I used this burger press, as expected...on a burger! It did a fine job at crushing my homemade burgers into a thin slab so my family could enjoy some homemade smash burgers. I can also see this working great indoors to when you need something heavy to to get extra crispy skin while pan-frying chicken thighs.
We love a good smash burger, and this was the perfect gadget to make them at home. I will say we had to lightly grease it before using as we found the first few burgers stuck to it when pressed down. We really enjoyed using the Big Boy Mario Smash Brother Burger Press. The large, round surface made it super easy to get nice, evenly smashed burgers, and it felt sturdy and comfortable to use. Our burgers did stick slightly to the press at first, but a little shake released them without much trouble. We’ve since learned that using a piece of parchment paper between the burger and the press can help prevent sticking, so we’ll definitely be trying that next time. The best thing about this burger press is that it's made from cast iron and it's heavy duty. It feels solid in the hand and easy to navigate around the skillet/griddle. I prefer the round shape to the rectangle as it is more versatile. There are slight ridges on the pressing side so it's best to use a parchment paper between it and the meat. The handle is comfortable and it does a great job for making smash burgers. The store was big and impressive, there are so many different types of grills, smokers, outdoor kitchen set ups and accessories and also sauces! I didn't know they had so many things including outdoor furniture. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Truly a BBQ lover's dreams
We absolutely loved the smash burger press! It was easy to use and helped make our burgers flat and crispy. It was easy to clean after too. We loved the massive show room and all of the accessories that were easy to find.
This burger smasher is great! Its surprisingly light weight but very sturdy and made quick work of flattening my burgers! It was easy to clean and nothing stuck to it.
I haven’t ever made smash burgers at home until now and this tool was perfect for it not only is it great quality but I found it easy to clean and use. It’s great for making large size smash burgers or even pressing chicken to get that nice grill mark. The stainless steel versions of these smashers are easier to clean but I think the cast iron ones (like this) are better for holding the heat and searing the patties.
Our family absolutely loved the Big Boy Round Grill Press and Burger Smasher from Barbecues Galore. It was love at first sight when we saw this beautiful smasher, however it did take some getting used to as we had never made smash burgers before. Rule number 1…have grill hot and ready. Rule number 2…smash the burgers while on the grill and not on a cutting board or any other surface as it will stick. Rule 3 which is very important…use a small square of parchment paper between the hamburger meat and smasher to avoid the mess of the meat sticking to the smasher. Feel free to use a little spritz of non-stick spray as well. We learnt all these the hard way haha but in the end it all worked out perfectly. Absolutely loved the fact that this Smasher is cast-iron for excellent heat retention and carries some significant weight to it. It has a beautiful wooden handle and large surface area for those big man burgers.
