Ginger, Honey, and Bourbon Veal Brisket

Special THANK YOU to our barbecue friends from Broil King for showing us how the warm flavours of honey, bourbon, and smoke showcase this delicious and tender veal brisket.

If you are considering adding a pellet smoker to your collection of backyard treasures, then consider either the Broil King Crown Pellet 400 or the Broil King Regal Pellet 500.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 5-pound (2.26 kg) veal brisket
  • 1/4 cup kosher salt
  • 1/4 cup cracked black pepper
  • 1/2 cup bourbon
  • 1/2 cup ginger beer
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • Don’t forget to stock up on Pellets.

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Mix bourbon, ginger beer and honey thoroughly. Marinate brisket with bourbon, ginger beer, and honey for at least 2 hours.  Overnight if desired.
  2. Remove brisket and apply salt and pepper generously and evenly.
  3. Smoke at 225°F (107°C) for 9 hours or until internal temperature reaches 203°F (95°C).
  4. Use a water pan to keep the humidity level in your cookbox high.
