Food For Thought | Stone Fruit

“Movin' to the country, gonna eat a lot of peaches… movin' to the country, gonna eat me a lot of peaches.”

Fact: this is the single most delicious time of year. It’s when some of the produce in the grocery store is actually in season and “local”(ish), and when fruits are ripened by the “sun” and taste like they’re supposed to; most notably, stone fruits.

Peaches, in particular, have a sweetness and texture unlike anything else, and are incredible on their own or added to – well, anything.

They’re especially tasty when they’re grilled. Halve those beauties up, remove the stone, and grill ‘em cut-side down. Eat them just like that (they’re extra sweet because the heat caramelizes the sugars), or slice them up and put ‘em on ice cream, yogurt, or on a simple green salad with some sliced steak and goat cheese. Deeeelish.
