Honey Garlic Chicken Skewers Recipe

Serves: 4  | Prep. Time: 30 minutes 

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb chicken breast or thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika

Directions:

STEP 1: Preheat your grill to medium-high heat, approximately 375°F.

STEP 2: Place the cut chicken pieces into a plastic bag.

STEP 3: In a bowl, mix together olive oil, soy sauce, honey, lemon juice, minced garlic, ground black pepper, dried oregano, and smoked paprika. Pour this marinade into the bag with the chicken, ensuring all pieces are well coated.

STEP 4: Seal the bag and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, but no more than 24 hours to allow the flavours to meld.

STEP 5: When ready to cook, thread the marinated chicken onto skewers.

STEP 6: Grill the skewers for 3-5 minutes per side, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.

STEP 7: Optional: If you wish to use the marinade as a dipping sauce, pour it into a pot and simmer for 5 to 8 minutes until slightly reduced. It will thicken as it cools.
