Remember that time that we told you to make a margarita while you grill these beauties up? OH, YEAH.
Now is the time to break out that cocktail shaker, friends. While you’re at it, make an extra drink for us, too. We did share this recipe with you, after all. It’s the least you could do.
Tequila Lime Chicken Wings
Serves 2
Ingredients
- 2 pounds(ish) chicken wings
- ¾ cup silver tequila
- ¾ cup lime juice
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon grape seed oil
- Zest of ½ lime
- ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
- ¼ teaspoon sea salt, plus more to finish
- ½ teaspoon chili pepper flakes (optional)
Equipment Required
Instructions:
Step 1: Assemble your ingredients. Take a shot of tequila.
Step 2: Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and line a large baking sheet with aluminum foil. Place the wings on the baking sheet and season generously with salt and pepper. Bake in preheated oven for about 45 minutes, or until cooked through and skin is nice and crisp.
Step 3: While the chicken is cooking, assemble the marinade. Whisk tequila, lime juice, honey, oil, zest, salt and pepper, and chili flakes until combined; set aside. Make a margarita.
Step 4: When the wings are cooked, transfer them to a deep dish. Preheat your grill to medium heat.
Step 5: Pour the sauce over the wings, and turn them over to coat. Let them rest (come on now, they’ve had a long day!) for 15 minutes.
Step 6: Place the wings on the preheated grill and let them cook for a minute or so. Flip ‘em over and cook the other side.
Step 7: Transfer the wings to a serving dish, sprinkle generously with salt, toss to distribute said salt, and enjoy!
