This recipe for Prosciutto Wrapped Dates is so easy you could get your kids to do it. Some may call that "child labour", others may call it "being resourceful". Often referred to as 'meat candy' - okay that's how I often refer to them - these tasty little treats are sure to make even the pickiest people happy. Recipe serves 4 (3 dates per person for an appetizer) Ingredients:
12 dried, pitted dates
4 slices prosciutto
Maple syrup
Flaked sea salt or chili flakes, optional
Instructions:
Step 1: Get your ingredients together and cut each slice of prosciutto lengthwise into three pieces. Preheat barbecue.
Step 2: Wrap each date with the prosciutto, and place it seam side down on a lightly oiled sheet of foil or a grill-safe griddle.
Transfer to serving dish(es) and sprinkle with sea salt or chili flakes, if desired.
