Crown Royal Smokey Wings

THIS RECIPE:

  • Serves: 4 guests
  • Prep Time: 15 minutes
  • Marinating Time: 2 hours
  • Smoking Time: 1:30 – 2:00 Hours

INGREDIENTS:

WING RUB

  • 4 lbs. of whole chicken wings with wing tips
  • 2 tablespoons Weber Seasoning Salt

PEACH BBQ SAUCE

  • 1½ cups tomato ketchup
  • 1 cup peach purée (blended canned peaches
  • ½ cup peach nectar
  • ¼ cup apple cider vinegar
  • ½ cup Crown Royal Peach Canadian Whiskey
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon cumin powder
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • Salt, Pepper and Hot sauce to taste

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Season the chicken wings with seasoning salt and place in the fridge for at least 2 hours.
  2. In a blender purée peaches until it is smooth in texture.
  3. To a saucepan add all sauce ingredients and bring to a simmer over medium-low heat and allow to reduce by 1/3 stirring occasionally.
  4. Prepare the Weber Smokey Mountain Cooker, using the minion method, for smoking heat (250°-275°F).
  5. Smoke the wings until an internal temperature of at least 150°F is reached to begin brushing the sauce over the wings on both sides.
  6. Continue applying the BBQ sauce every 15 minutes until the wings reach an internal temperature of at least 165°F (best enjoyed around 180°F-190°F).
