Grilled Garlic Scallops Recipe

Grilled Garlic Scallops Recipe

Serves: 2-4 | Prep Time: 15 min. | Cook Time: 6-8 min.

Grilled Scallops 

 

Ingredients for Grilled Garlic Scallops Recipe:

  • 1 lb scallops
  • 1/3 cup butter or margarine
  • 3 large cloves garlic (minced or pressed)
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped shallots
  • 1/4 cup minced parsley
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/8 tsp celery salt
  • 12 cherry tomatoes
  • 1 green pepper (cut into about 12 squares)
  • 4 wooden skewers like the Panda Toothpicks

Directions for Grilled Garlic Scallops Recipe:

STEP 1: If your scallops are frozen, thaw those little guys out completely. Then, use a paper towel to dry them out.

STEP 2: Soak wooden skewers in water for about 30 minutes before using to help reduce burning.

STEP 3: Preheat your gas grill on HIGH heat - you can also use charcoal for an even better taste.

STEP 4: In frying pan, combine butter, garlic, shallots, parsley, nutmeg, and celery salt. Saute at low heat for 5 minutes while stirring occasionally.

STEP 5: Meanwhile, put the scallops on 4 wooden skewers with the cherry tomatoes and green peppers.

STEP 6: Reduce the heat to MEDIUM – LOW. Place skewers on the barbecue and grill those sticks of deliciousness, turning as necessary, until the scallops are cooked through and change colour. This should take about 6 to 8 minutes.
