We feel like nobody does breakfast in bed anymore. It's a classic and easy move to prove you care about someone. Although moms seem to always know what you're thinking, turns out they can't actually read your mind. So, prove that you care by making the mothers in your life the breakfast in bed they deserve. Make this Breakfast Steak and Egg Bagel Sandwich recipe.
Recipe created by the award winning Fire Master, Andrew Plaza.
Ingredients for Breakfast Sauce:
- ½ Cup Mayonnaise
- 2 Tbsps. Yellow Mustard
- 1 Tbsp. Lemon Juice
- 1 tsp. Hot Sauce
- 1 Tbsp. Dill Weed
- 1 tsp. Kosmo's Q SPG Dry Rub
Directions for Sauce
STEP 1: Combine all the sauce ingredients in a small blender and mix well until all those delicious ingredients become one yummy mix.
Main Ingredients for Breakfast Steak and Egg Bagel Sandwich:
- 4 Everything Bagels
- 8 Slices American Cheese
- 4 Eggs
- 3 Tbsps. Butter
- 2 Large Onions (Sliced thinly)
- 2 Thick Steaks (cut in half)
- Heath Riles BBQ Cajun Creole Garlic Butter Rub
- Cattleman’s Grill Trail Dust - All Purpose Seasoning
- 2 Tbsps. Prairie Smoke and Spice Steak Shake + more for steak
Directions for Breakfast Steak and Egg Bagel Sandwich:
STEP 1: Preheat your griddle or flattop grill to a medium-high heat.
STEP 2: When your grill is ready and sizzling, add your 3 tablespoons of butter, sliced onions, and season it all with 2 tablespoons of Prairie Smoke and Spice Steak Shake.
STEP 3: Next, caramelize your onions by cooking them for about 10 minutes or until they turn light brown and transparent.
STEP 4: Now for the fun part, take your steak out and trim the excess fat. Then, slice it in half if you think it will be too thick.
STEP 5: Season in 3-layers separate layers, starting with your Heath Riles BBQ Cajun Creole Garlic Butter Rub, then Cattleman’s Grill Trail Dust - All Purpose Seasoning, and lastly the Prairie Smoke and Spice Steak Shake.
STEP 6: Then cook each side of your steak for just 2-4 minutes per side, or until its internal temperature reaches 125°F.
STEP 7: Now place your egg silicone mold on the griddle, and add a touch of butter or cooking spray - ideally some Duck Fat - into each slot. Then crack your egg in each mold and cook it to your mothers liking. Do you remember if she likes the yolk runny or not?
STEP 8: Once the eggs bottom is formed, flip it over, place a piece of American cheese on it and let the cheese melt.
STEP 9: Butter up those bagels and add them to the griddle to toast them alongside your eggs.
STEP 10: Once your cheese is melted and your bagel halves are toasted, it's time to build the sandwich. Start by adding a slice of American cheese to the toasted side of the bottom half of the bagel. Then place the steak on top, followed by some of your caramelized onions, and lastly the egg with the melted cheese facing upward. Now add the sauce you made earlier; and maybe keep some on the side just in case mom wants more.
STEP 11: Place the other half of the bagel atop to form a sandwich and you're on your way to create the best surprise ever. Then make another Breakfast Steak and Egg Bagel Sandwich because we know you want one for yourself too.
