Smoked Christmas Sausage, Ham, and Herb Stuffing Recipe
Ingredients for Smoked Christmas Sausage, Ham, and Herb Stuffing:
- 8 Cups Unseasoned Stuffing Cubes
- 1 Stick Butter (salted)
- 1 ½ Cups White Onion (diced)
- 3 Tbsps. Killer Hogs Texas Brisket Rub
- 1 Cup Celery (diced) Celery
- 4 Garlic Cloves (finely chopped)
- 1 lb. Sweet Italian Sausage (with the casings removed)
- 2 x 1” thick Ham Slices (diced)
- 2 ¾ Cups Low Sodium Chicken Broth
- 1 Large Egg (beaten)
- 1 Tbsp Rosemary (fresh, chopped)
- 1 Tbsp. Sage (fresh, chopped)
- ¼ Cup Chopped Parsley
- ½ tsp Salt
- ½ tsp Pepper
Directions for Christmas Sausage, Ham, and Herb Stuffing:
STEP 1: Preheat your smoker to 350°F.
STEP 2: Lightly spray a disposable tin pan with Duck Fat and add in the bread cubes.
STEP 3: Now, melt the butter in a large sauté pan. Add the onions and celery in the pan and cook over medium heat. Be sure to stir occasionally until the vegetables become soft.
STEP 4: Add your Killer Hogs Texas Brisket Rub and garlic. Then, stir and cook for 2 more minutes to lightly brown the garlic.
STEP 5: Add the vegetables to the pan with the bread cubes.
STEP 6: Now, use the same pan you cooked the veggies with to cook the sausage. Be sure the sausages are cooked thoroughly and browned.
STEP 7: Add the browned sausage to the bread cubes and vegetables.
STEP 8: Next, dice up the ham and add them in the same mix.
STEP 9: Now add the chicken broth, egg, rosemary, sage, parsley, salt and pepper to the bread cube mixture and mix until the bread is soft and moistened.
STEP 10: Transfer the stuffing to your smoker and smoke it for 60 to 75 minutes, or until the bread is golden with a crisp on top.
